Here's the deal, I have the MINI itch (for the third time) and this time I want to satisfy the itch for good. I think I want a 2006 GP. I've had a 2003 MCS that played with endlessly and had a great time modifying but I ended up selling because my kids just didn't fit anymore (I'm 6'4" and there is no chance of anyone sitting behind me). I then went to a 2009 JCW Clubman that I once again tuned and played with. It was a great car but compared to the R53 it was just a pig, even with more horsepower/torque. After selling the JCW I went back to my roots and picked up a 2012 Golf R 4 door (AWD). It too is tuned and a great car but just doesn't have the same feel as an early MINI. So here I sit driving to work everyday thinking about a R53. I have a lead on a car I'm very interested in but it'd be a fly and drive deal. I'm sure I'd love the car but before pulling the trigger I'd love to talk to a local GP owner and possibly get a ride. It'll be my daily so I want to get a feel for what the GP is like.

I'm in Sammamish, East of Seattle. If anyone is in the area please drop me a PM and help me bring another GP to the NW.

Oh, and if you know anyone that is interested in a Stage 1+ Golf R send them my way At this point I may just turn my lease in early (a year), take the hit, and go shopping.

Someone? Anyone? I've reached out to some Seattle based owners but it sounds like most have sold their MINI to someone out of state.

From the registry on the GPMINI Forum there were at least three GPs originally in the Seattle area; #0223 Matt, #0343 Jack, and #1746 Mike.

#0223 was for sale in 2006 so I suspect it was sold and I do not know where it went. The seller was Highbid on NAM so maybe you can send him a PM.

#0343 was sold to a Priscilla from Eugene, OR in 2010. Her NAM username is PRISGP0343 if you want to PM her to see if it has been sold again and maybe moved back closer to you.

#1746 was sold in Florida in 2013 so probably no longer around Seattle.

Sadly it looks like the car I was working on getting has sold. Still need to do this though as I will bring one to WA.
