Yesterday my IPCs decide to stop working except for the key sybmol staying illuminated. 07 MCS 83K...

Scanned with the SNAP-ON Pass Thru at work had P1551 and Kombi Communication Errors. Checked fuses & relays... all seemed okay....

Didn't feel comfortable driving back and forth on my 100 mile R/T commute so I left it at the dealer...

Hopefully my Ext Wtty covers whatever crapped out....

 

Pls keep us informed. My 2010 MC automatic has been in and out of the dealer with a totally draining battery just replaced under warranty in January. They suspect my Ultraguage but it is the latest version corrected for MINI.

 

Update: dealer informed me that the Kombi is fried...to to reinstall stock deck and hope for the best...

 

What's a Kombi?
How did it fry?
Is it covered?

 

The KOMBI from what i can figure is a the IPC control module. Dealer says its due to the stock head unit I replaced in Decemember with a Kenwood deck.

 

All is okay in the universe...powered it down for 48 hrs(no battery hook up)... Fixed a nicked wire from my Coilovers install from last month & powered it back up gauges work!!!
Super stoked...ready for my back to back track day at EOM...
