Royal Grey stripe colors?

Hi all. Just ordered a 2014 Countryman S All4 in Royal Grey with black roof. I plan to do some sort of black stripes (haven't decided what quite yet) but want to add a contrast color as well. I know in the 2006 Park Lane Edition, the Royal Grey had silver stripes and roof. Does anyone have silver stripes on their Royal Grey? Any other color combos out there? I've seen a pic of red stripes, but am not sure I want to do red.

Currently have a 2006 Cooper in Pepper White with Black stripes. I absolutely adore her, but want to try a different color combo this time.

My thoughts:

1. White racing stripes down the middle across the bonnet, roof, and boot. Clean look, not a lot of flash. Add side stripes if you want.

2. Grey or black bonnet stripes with a pinstripe to the outside in a highlight color matched to the mirror caps. Orange would give it a nice pop. Bonus points for getting matching brake ducts though that would take some custom paint work. Mirror caps are easy since you can get a bunch of colors through MINI. You could do a matching design on the boot.

I could probably keep coming up with other ideas but I think the first decision is what kind of stripe you want (sport/viper or stripes wider apart) and which surfaces you want them on (bonnet, boot, roof, sides).

Thanks, chrunk. I am kind of thinking black viper stripes with contrasting pin stripe. The orange is definitely appealing . . . need to see the car in person in outside light to really see if that will work. The Royal Grey has a definite green cast to it when you see it outdoors. Tricky . . . Love your Pure Red and Black.

You might want to flip through this thread and see if anything catches your eye:

There's also other threads in the non-CM forums that could be helpful.

One more thread to check out is the Royal Grey Owners Club:

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ners-club.html

Also, here's a couple pics of the loaner I have right now while my CM is in the shop. It's midnight black with black/green stripes and matching mirror caps.

It also has stripes on the roof that are unique. You definitely have a lot of options if you get creative.

Those look like MINI's Ray Line stripes - matte black with an accent pinstripe. Looks sharp!

I went with Matte Black stripes and could not be happier. The matte stripes on the roof add a good contrast to the shiny roof.

+1 for the matte black stripes with an accent color maybe green or orange with mirror caps and scoops to match. Really think the matte is the new way to go

Thanks for the compliments on the stripes. I did not go with accent color stripes because of the certain look I am after. I am getting ready to black out all the chrome (belt line, headlight and taillight bezels, door handles and front grill). There will only be a little bit of red accenting. I just wrapped my 4's in red to match the 'S'. I have a few other subtle red vinyl plans.

I've got this same color scheme (royal grey, black roof) and have been looking at it for the past few months trying to figure out what if any stripes to put on. Thanks for posting the suggestions and options here! Love the look you did Jay! Hey, how does driving a MINI go over in Detroit? When I used to go out there on occasion non-american cars were REALLY frowned upon. Actually even driving a Ford to the Chrysler plant forced you to park a mile away.

It still may be frowned upon to drive a competitors vehicle when you work for the Big 3. I work for a large supplier that does a lot of work for BMW so it is definitely not frowned upon for me. I have noticed that the culture has changed over the years. I get a lot of compliments on my car. Thanks for the opinion on the stripes.

I just bought my wife the royal gray and we decided to get the matte black stripes going down the middle (including the bumpers) w/o the pitch fork over the scoop. And it will have red borders at each side.

Front 'S' emblem

Jays - did your Countryman come with the 'S' logo on the grill, or did you add that? Totally love it!

The S on grill is a GO BADGE. Lots of interchangeable cool badges available.
