2008 Mini Cooper Radio display not working

Radio was working great the other day then one day the center speedo and radio screens were blank. went to investigate a bit and unplugged the speedo and plugged it back in. Now the speedo works again and the radio display is backlit but does not show any functions. Any ideas on how to fix???

I took it apart and found the cable going from the radio to the screen had a lot of corrosion on it, I got a new cable but still no working screen

Same experience

My 09 Coopers radio and tach would just stop working - going along fine and then either shut down or got no reception - static. Restarting the car would sometimes fix the situation. Took it to the dealer and of course could not replicate the problem. Finally the problem happened on the way to a scheduled maintenance appt. They supposedly replaced the radio - head unit etc - checked the wiring harness - but the problem would reoccur on a regular basis. A Mini rep got involved again no resolution and no compensation. Since the car was close to the end of the warranty I got rid of the car and bought my 2011. Wish I still had my 03 Cooper
