JCW/GP manual steering wheel on a Auto Paddle ****

I may sell my GP steering wheel for a custom flat bottom, and was curious if my steering wheel could be modified on the back to fit an R56 automatic that has paddle shifting?

A few years ago I bought an E90M3 steering wheel and did some cutting so it could fit my E90 335i auto with paddle shifting.

Anyone know if this is possible for the R56 Mini's
Thanks
Mario

MINI owners are as adventurous in cutting stuff up to fit paddles. Haven't heard of anyone doing it here but I remember those days on the E90/E92 side of things. Fun times..

Exactly, the R56 steering wheels very "bmwish" when you remove the airbag. From just looking at it, it looks very possible.

Yes, it has been done. Seems fairly easy.

I did it, took about 2 hours (15 min of that was getting the airbag off the first time) and a small collection of sharp razors/x-acto blades. The holes to bolt in the paddles are in the frame of the wheel, so it is mostly just trimming the foam and leather.
