Does anyone know if MINI's warranty on catalytic converter has been extended ?

I was told it's 130KM and mine has split at 155 KM ( 2005 MCS )

I don't know how this warranty compares yo other mfg's but all the other vehicles I have owned with 300+KM never had this problem. ( Honda / Toyota / Subaru )

 

Dealership says the part cost $1260 and next delivery is in May ! ( Typical )

My local mechanic welded the pre-cat back together so it's stronger than new.
