R50/53 Front Struts - tire wear
Front Struts - tire wear
I know my front struts are blown, and I have some Bilstein Tourings on the way, as well as some strut tower reinforcement plates (the kind that mount between the struts and towers) as I have some mushrooming. I'll be doing the job next weekend. I have two questions for you:
First, my front tires are balding on the inner edges and fine everywhere else. It seems logical that the mushrooming and bad struts could cause this, but I wanted to see what you all think. It seems like maybe there is an excess of negative camber. I'll be taking it in for an alignment after I replace the parts, and maybe have them switch the front tires.
Second, i want to know what else I should be looking for as long as I have the suspension apart. The rubbers for the strut mounts look fine from the tops. I do have a squeak when I turn the wheels , so I assume I have a worn bushing somewhere.
Thanks!
