3rd time my turn signal indicator has fallen off

The right indicator in the plastic housing between the right front wheel and the door. It comes flying off when I'm driving down the interstate, usually when the weather is cold. Multiple dealer visits. Super frustrating.

The first time I was able to stop quickly and shove the housing back into the hole, but on subsequent occasions it has flown off, ripping the electrical wires with it.

If it's properly installed, I don't believe it can come off with the hood down. It's held in place by 4 plastic doglegs on the back side. The scuttle has to move forward to come off and the hood is in the way when it's closed. I suspect your scuttle was improperly installed and being held on by only the front or back clips, not both. It's possible to install it incorrectly and still look like it's secure. The only way to be sure is to peer up ito the fenderwhell and insure all 4 clips are engaged. Take a look at a removed scuttle and you'll see what I mean.

A dab of silicone would keep it in place if you keep having a problem. Forget the dealer unless you want to buy a new part.
