OEM Sirius output?

I have a new to me 2008 mini cooper s. Excited when I purchased that it had steering wheel blue tooth phone buttons, only to learn (here) I don't have blue tooth after all.

So now I am planning an aftermarket stereo upgrade to get blue tooth and better sound. I have been digging thru the forums researching options and will likely add a double din headunit and retain the stock stereo. I believe I have the base stereo. I do have OEM sirius with the lifetime subscription.

So here is my question: Can I keep the OEM sirius receiver and output it to an aftermarket head unit? I hate to loose the lifetime option and sirius doesn't appear to allow transfer from OEM equiptment.

I appreciate the help.

David.

Probably not. The newer Minis are fiber optic...

The bluetooth and SAT modules are both on fiber-optic.
