anyone thought of a peugot swap??!!

so the countryman is a bit big, and before i have commented how mini should have developed a 2.0 liter for this car to compensate for the extra weight, however, if im not wrong, bmw uses a peugeot 1.6 block for the r60. The peugeot rcz r has this block, and delivers 270 hp.. that seems like itd be alot of fun, especially in a MT, ALL4 car, (i dont think a fwd would be able to handle the power.. major torque steer without a trick diff.) i understand that big upgrades would need to be made to the clutch, i think the MT could be on the threshold of handling this power, possible diff and driveshaft upgrades, i have no idea about the bolt on capabilities of the engine mounts ......but..if there's anyone who owns an oil well or just deep pockets, and wants to give this swap a go, id love to see it happen on an ALL4 or even a mini gp!! open for questions and discussion, just don't roast me for bringing it up.

** more simply, could internals be upgraded through peugeot oem parts to deliver a desired outcome?

-cheers

That would be something special alright since the rcz weighs more than 500 kilos than a hardtop

Wouldn't this get a bit extreme on the countryman 12.4 gallon tank?

i dont think it would be too nuts, the rcz r markets 44.8 mpg, and as quoted above, the hardtop weighs even less (though it is less aerodynamic). the rcz r has only a 14 gallon tank, i dont think its that terrible. remember that having a more powerful motor doesnt mean that its less efficient, just look at the power and mpg of the crazy cla45.
