Mini supercharger questions? Pulley/oil

Just bought my new(used)05 mcs. It only has 60k, I'm getting ready to tune her up. I'm wanting to order the whole kit. Plugs, wires, coil and 15%pulley with belt. I was wondering how the under drive pulley affects every day driving. Does 15% under drive spinning fast cause any more excessive wear to blower? What about fuel mileage difference? I want this to be a daily driver with the occasional 300mile trip. Thanks for the help.

Hi Welcome to NAM I see that this is your first post and to your question.
I have a 15% on my 05 and it's a nice feeling when you can hear the SC making more noise, your SC will be fine, nothing to fret about. Now fuel economy will go down due to you having so much fun with the added power lol.

Have fun with your new car and we are here to help

With just a 15% pulley the wear and tear wouldnt be much diffrent if you left it stock the jcw mini has a 13% reduction pulley and thats from the factory 15 % is conservative. If there is any excessive wear its gonna be from your driving habits changing because the extra noise and power makes you put your foot in it more! Have fun.!

The 15% pulley has proven over the years to be as reliable as a stock pulley if properly installed. If your blower is going to fail it will fail with or without a pulley on it. So go ahead and get a 15% pulley and enjoy it.
We've even seen some people get better mileage with the pulley, but if you go enjoying it too much mileage will go down.
