Stereo forgot how to play from usb?

S there a way to reset the stereo easily? Or restart it? For some reason it seems to have forgotten how to play anything from a usb drive. It was working fine, but now it just wont play anything. I select a song, but then after a few minutes of silence, the radio starts playing.

Or is it time for a trip to the dealership (it is still under warranty)

I'd try a different USB drive first, if that doesn't work, off to the dealer..

If you don't have another USB drive, try reformatting your current one (FAT32 format, and reload your songs). There may be a corrupted file or folder on drive. It sounds as though the stereo encountered errors while trying to read a file or folder, and gave up after awhile.

Maybe try disconnecting the battery and letting the system reset.

Also I read some where here to use a smaller USB drive.
Seems the system wigs out on the larger 32 plus GB drives.
I could be wrong on the exact size, but I moved to a 16 GB one and it has never failed and loads super fast.

the one i had was a 16 gig. just bought another drive to see if that does it (reformatting didn't help, so far). Of course, I see this note just AFTER i bought a 32 gig. One other thing I am testing is to check if one of the culprits is the addition of random files that were in the music folders - files like iTunes digital books, itlp files, etc. I am wondering if that caused the system to freak. But haven't had a chance to test that theory out yet.

Yes, remove any non-audio files. Is most likely the culprit. Attached is an interesting note about the USB drive. I found it in another thread.
