Has anyone bought any aftermarket black housing headlights? Is there a better brand than others? I am not necessarily looking to upgrade to bi-zenons. Should I spend the extra money for zenon or stick to halogen? give me your thoughts.

 

Bi-Xenons (HID) only work well if they have proper housing and lenses.
Otherwise they could blind oncoming traffic, and in that case halogens would be more adequate.

With that being said, there are black housing Bi-Xenon kits out there like this:


I've had experience with this "brand" when I put similar light kits on my WRX.
They work well when it comes to lighting the road in front of me without blinding others.
But sometimes the "LED" or "Angel Eyes" on them may require some tinkering, or may not work at all.
Quality control with these is hit or miss.
But they are half the cost of OEMs, so you get what you pay for.

Bear in mind that most of these "brands" are made by one single factory in China.
They may be marketed under different names, but all come from the same place.

But this one here looks a bit more trustworthy, and comes with a leveling motor as well.

 

do they make a set that is just halogen? with black housing? I cant seem to find anything but halos or xenon
