Blown FL9 Fuse

I went out to try and start our '05 S tonight and was greeted with nothing. No door locks, no lights, nothing. A few weeks back I had a similar issue (windows were also lowering on their own) which I chalked up to a bad battery. I replaced the battery and the car fired right up. My wife drove it a bit but it has been sitting for about 2 weeks now. I pulled the battery and it was fully charged.

I checked the fuses and found that FL9 is blown. Looks like this controls the radiator fans and the ECU. I'm going to replace it tomorrow but assuming it's just going to blow again, am I looking at a new ECU?

Assuming it is for the radiator fan, it might be locked up. Can you move the electric fan with the car off at all?

I have the radiator fan lock up,, blow fuses, they can rust pretty bad on the motor. You can check with the engine off if it spins freely by spinning it with your hand.

Also check the PS fan while you are at it, its a good time to inspect both. Its located on the bottom of the MINI right behind the engine in front of the Power Steering pump, make sure it spins free and not gummed up.

Thanks

The radiator fan spins freely but the whole assembly seems awfully loose to me. Is that normal? The fan actually died on me 2 years ago and was replaced then.

Didn't get a chance to check the PS fan, will have to wait until it stops raining.
