Need your advise - new air intake

Hello all,
My son bought me a K&N high performance air intake system for my 2010 S. I mainly use my car for my daily 30 mile commute (each way) in RUSH hr traffic - usually slow traffic to very slow traffic with occasional fast spots.
So, could this be a problem with this type of air intake? Thanks.

Is it a filter or an Airbox replacement? If it's an Airbox replacement and you do not intend to tune your car and do exhaust mods, maybe it's not for you. If it's a filter and is NOT oiled, that's a great addition to your car!

It certainly wont hurt your car either airbox or filter, although some have seem MAF issues with overly oiled filters. If its a panel filter many will recommend dry panels from WAY motor works etc. It wont free up much power and will give you some more intake noise, which can be fun.

Hello, it's the airbox. I've heard about the 'oil' problem with K&N, so I'll watch for that when the time comes to clean it. Guess I'll give it a go and see what happens.

I've had a K&N on the car since nearly new and no issues whatsoever.

I'd tell him to return it. Waste of money on this car. You'll only notice the sound. The 2hp you make at 6000rpm is negligible.
