Yesterday I was driving home from my parents house when my '07 MCS when In to Limp Mode. I can drive it all the way up to 5k RPM but I have no boost. I dont have a CEL light and using a OBDII scanner, I found no Current or pending codes. The light doesnt go away after I shut the engine down then start it again.

2007 Mini Cooper S 85,000 Miles. No Modifications other than straight pipe from the Down pipe..

Any help would be appreceated, My mini went out of Warrenty in May and Mini Of the Woodlands wants $120 to dignose it. Which just after The Holidays, Im kinda hurting :/.

I have read on forums that it could be as simple as a loose vacuum like or as severe as a faulty fuel pump or vacuum pump.. Any idea on how to trouble shoot with out getting the LIMPMODE code Read?

 

check all hoses and clamps for damage and coming loose.
Could be as simple as a loose boost tube somewhere.

 

Turned out to be the diverter valve. $56 at MINI and back on the road.

 

Glad you found out what it was , first I was going to say the one of the hoses also.

Was it a bad valve or the diaphragm was cracked?

This is the newest part design which is what it was replaced with. Part # 11657593273

How'd can I tell if mine is bad? Ours has thrown a CEL three times now with the same symptoms. Every time it resets after sitting for a few minutes and restarting. Last time I triggered it I floored it while it was still a bit cold and bam.
