inlet tube (intake)

so, for some strange reason this pipe broke.

I'm looking into buying a new one. are the silicon ones good? or are they cheaply made? which one do you guys recommend me?

btw is it possible for the mini(S 09) to turn on the check engine and limit performance if you put in regular gas?

Yes, if you are knocking due to low octane, it will pull timing and possibly limit boost. The check engine light just tells you it has stored codes, one of which could be excessive knocking.

DO NOT run your mini on anything less than 91 and get 93 as often as you can find it. Especially in places with Ethanol blended into it.

As for the intake, I think the most cost effective replacement for the factory tube would be the Samco silicone tube. Samco is one of those brands that I trust to do a silicone part the right way, and they're cheaper than all the companies who think by putting their name on it and calling it "performance" they can double the price of a part that A: Doesn't improve usable power, and B: Is not in any way expensive to manufacture.

I'm curious, cab you guys get etoh free 93 octane? I can find 91 octane free but 93 in only e10. Btw, etoh free is for offroad use or antique/collectibles only in MO.
