Would 235/45/17's be too big of a tire for my Mini Cooper? It's an 05 Mini Cooper s R53 and I'm wanting the tires to poke out a little bit without having to use wheel spacers.
That's what I have on there now. And I'm contemplating upgrading to 225/45/17's or trying to go for 235/45/17's.
This question belongs in the Tires, Wheels and brakes forum.
What suspension and wheels do you have?
Stock tire is 205/45-17
Alternate size is 215/45-17
225/45-17 is too tall for a MINI and oversized, risk of rubbing is high with stock suspension and guaranteed with any lowered suspension. 235/45-17 is even taller.
235/40-17 fits rims 8-9.5" wide and has tire diameter of 24.5" which could fit stock suspension.
245/35-17 fits rims 8-9.5" wide and has tire diameter of 23.8" but there is only one tire to choose from: Toyo Proxes R1R Extreme Summer tire, 140 treadwear. Would fit stock or some lowered suspensions.
