Well, as most of you know, the shop has moved to a new facility. We should have the lift by the first MINI5280 meeting to be held at the new location on the 7th of June, but the Dyno won't be in place yet. Everything should be ready by the end of July - the scales, alignment equipment, dyno, lift, and displays.

I'd like to do a pulley party and get as many MINIs to the shop at the same time as possible. This would be a big one! I want to do it exactly the way I want it - music, food, drink, MINIs, displays, socializing, door prizes, giveaways, and a track event - we are talking about a multi day event. Depending on when we do it, this could be a MINI dyno day as well (if it is in).

What dates work, and who would be interested in attending? I already know of two folks coming down from one of the northern states for it - they are just waiting for the anouncement on a date.

The price for the pulley install is an insane $350! This is a one time deal, as it is normally $400. I don't know of anyone anywhere doing pullies for this price.

I am going to be organizing this event in conjunction with North American Motoring and MINI5280, so there should be plenty of information, but if you have any questions, just give me a call.

Best of luck with your new grand opening. Please post some pictures.
Too bad you are so far away, can't easily get to you from in the middle of the ocean.
On the other hand, maybe that is a blessing in disguise. Makes me think twice before paying the huge shipping costs.

Keep up your testing of products. It's always helpful to get a little more info and numbers.
A subjective comment from you is also helpful.

One thing I'd like to see with so many different products out now is a systematic approach to modding an MC or MCS based on logical stages with upgrades that really work together well or complement one another. If a complete stage kit is bought then some discount would apply but the individual parts could be used as a roadmap or guide of what might serve as a thoughtful upgrade plan with pros and cons clearly in mind.

 

So let's see, "The Dragon" on the 23rd and "Randy's
Grand Opening" on the 30th. Do I get frequent flyer
miles with that combo?

 

Well, I just got home from looking at the new shop...It is gonna be KISK A$$. Randy has a great set up, and I can not wait to start helping him out and learning more about the product line and the cars themselves. We have some work to do to get ready for the MINI5280 meeting, but I feel confident that we will be able to accomplish everything we want to.

I can't think of a better way to spend a few hours on my birthday (June 7th). Well... that's not entirely true.. How about, I can't think of a better way to spend a few hours doing MINI stuff.

Anyway, just avoid the weekends of June 12th and 26th since I'm going to be out of town.

You might need to add a 'fridge to the list of equipment, to serve beers to everyone that will be coming by. (Hope you can get some work done)
I think you should shoot for a mid-late July grand opening - give everyone enough time to plan around the event.
The Audi Club is hosting some ALMS cars the last weekend in July at Prestige. They are also trying to arrange for some ride-alongs with the Champion Audi drivers for a charity event that following Monday at SCR. Not sure if this is a conflict or an amenity to your open house.

But I would prefer to wait until the dyno's in the shop.

What's the point of a pulley if I can't wave the dyno sheets in the faces of my friends?
