R56 cold weather high idle?
cold weather high idle?
So this morning it was 6*f when I got up for work. I always let my cars run for 5-10 minutes to get the fluids warmed up. My mcs is a 2008 and just had the timing chain, water pump, and turbo heat shield done on it. I changed the oil with mobil 1 0w-40 and everything has been fine.
Well this morning when I started it up the idle turned up to 1500 rpm and would drop down to 1200 and back up to 1500. I thought it was just a warm up period being so cold that mini had. (my first non American car) well after 10 minutes I go back to the car and noticed I believe it was the CEL on and it was showing half yellow and half empty. I shut the car off and restarted it and everything was fine.
Any ideas on what this can be?

Wow. I have to put my gas pedal down about half way (as the manual sez) to start it up. I have to purposely keep the rpm's up a bit like 1500 or it will stall for the first 30 seconds or so. '05 MCS It's grumpy for a few minutes, then gets used to it. It was -7 Tuesday.
