I currently drive a 2006 R53 Cooper S and I'm purchasing a set of 2004 R53 Cooper S Seats. Is it a straight Re & re? I know the 2002-2004 seats do not have a seat sensor while the 2005-2006 does.

I know the swap will be easy however I need to know if there is a way to delete the airbag light or wire the airbag to work. Additionally, Does the carpet fit as well?

 

I have an '06 non-S and the seats have the sensor in them that is different than the earlier years as you said. There are some posts about altering the programming and another alternative is to take the mat out of the old seat and plug in and fold it up under the new seat.
