Engine upgrade fJCW

Hey Guys,

sorry in advance for my bad english!

I just want to know your opinion of my ideas upgrading my R56 N14 JCW Engine.

Here are the Specs of the car at the moment:

- Acrapovic Downpipe - 2,5" Custom Catback without middle silencer
- DOS CAI
- ALTA Turbo Inlet Tube/Hot Side boost tube/noise generator delete
- Evolve Version 2 FMIC
- Sachs Performance Clutch with Single-Mass-Flywheel
- OEM recirculation valve with ALTAs "stiffy" spring
- custom map from my local tuner to 248 HP and 320 nm

Now I want to make a bigger upgrade. Target is ~280- 300 HP.
I just read many threads in this forum but dont know which way the best is.

Essentials to make it healthy:
- Pistons (Mahle with oem maessures)
- Conrods (Carillo)
I dont want to enlarge the cylinder capacity because of the already real thin cylinder walls!

The parts for gaining power
Here I´m not sure which of those ways to go:

1. Hybrid Turbo or bigger Turbo (such as the Garrett?) - by changing the turbo many problems come with this I think:
Do I need a boost controller? Even an free programmable ECU? (I don´t have much knowledge about those programming stuff) Bigger Exhaust/3,5"?

2. Schrick Camshafts

3. Evolve Tune (I read only positive response/ they seem to be very experienced and have many knowledge about entering the MINI ECU in-depth)
Is it just waste of money? Or will I have HP gains towards my existing file? I cannot either read something about their files and HP information here nor on their website.

4. Catless Downpipe
Will I have a power gain? (Cannot find a confirmation of that)

5. Okada Plasma Coils
What do you thing about those? Any experience?

6. More usefull parts I forgot?

Which of those parts would you try or combine?
You would be a real help to plan my winterholidays

Greets, Thomas

Your English is a hell of a lot better than some of the "scholars" on here. I'm sure you will get a ton of advice to your questions.

if i were you, i'd skip the cai, upgraded tubes, and recirc valve, and spend that money on a howerton hfs-4 water/meth injection system instead.

I second the water/meth recommendation. I just recently got a stage 3 Evolve tune and had to go from a .6 jet to a .7 jet because of the added heat from the higher boost, can you do that with an intercooler I don't think so. From what I've read on the net Evolve can get a pretty much stock works up around 270hp (that car dyno'd about 230 before remap) so you'd be better off contacting Imran at Evove UK directly for advice on what you should do to achieve you goal.
