Drivetrain Need Engine Rebuild in Texas
Need Engine Rebuild in Texas
Hello!
My car would not start Monday morning. Thinking it was an electrical problem since the car drove fine the night before I had it towed to an electrical shop. I could hear the starter trying to engage;however, it would not turn over. Everything checked out with the electrical; however, they are telling me my engine is seized. It has oil and did not overheat. The car is being towed today to another shop to have the engine looked at.
Looking at worse case scenario is there a reputable shop here in Texas I can have my engine rebuilt. Or should I just bite the bullet and order one from Way?
Any help or direction is greatly appreciated. I am still in the WTF phase of this. The car was running strong with no rattling, stumbling or any indications of an engine failure.

Sad news, sorry to hear it. Texas is a big town, I think I read on another thread there is an indie guy in Houston...but that would be a bit of a search on the forum. Sorry about the useless information, but I'm in Africa at the moment and internet is blindingly slow.
Not useless info! Its a start!!!
I travel frequently to Houston and would have no problem towing my car there. It is a 400 mile trip for me but I am willing if I can get a good engine rebuild from a trusted shop.

Houston Mini Motoring Society are very active on Facebook - you might ask on there. Austin and Dallas also have societies that may be able to help. Good luck - hope you get it fixed.

Ah! Are you on Facebook? Look up Kelli Creighton or the League of Extraordinary MINIacs. Kelli lives in the Houston area, and well, the League is in a league of its own! All you gotta do it wave! Good stuff!
Kelli is in the club with me. I belong to the League already. Have since the beginning I think. I'm on FB as well. I'm the one in the Houston club with outrageous power. Haha!!!!
Well heck 90! You ought to be dialed in then! I'll see if I can spot you on FB. I'm out there for a quick look most evenings.
