Hey all, thanks so much for the responses so far. Today I took advantage of the weather, drove around from Lyons to Black Hawk, Golden, etc. planning in more detail, trying to be considerate of everyone's time, distance, weather options, alternatives and Sat schedule - 12/07.
Breakfast:
The best option so far, I think, is to change the breakfast location (the Egg & I in Broomfield is a little tough to find and parking seemed pretty tight) to maybe a Starbucks (nice, big parking lot, new one on Wadsworth / Arvada close to 287?) or our old SBUX standby in Golden? There was also a nice Egg & I in Boulder off Baseline/93? The easiest, most convenient and .2 miles from the route is Golden SBUX. Jamie? Kristan? you guys coming?
Route:
Driving up/down 93, construction is a nightmare and lots of "fuzz" on that corridor - probably 6-7 cops on that Golden/Boulder stretch today. Cuz I'd like to hit lots of twisties with you guys I motored up Golden Gate Canyon (we haven't been there as a club recently) but this time veered left @ the Cone/GC park route (46) vs Crawford route. Cool road, lots of FUN and about 20 miles worth. Crosses into CO 110 where we could make left (south) to Black Hawk and double back through the canyon or make right (north) to Rollinsville / Nederland (we've all done this drive many x's) and back through 36/Boulder canyon (interesting if you haven't seen the flood recovery). Either way works and folks could go there own @ this point.
Summary:
Breakfast:
Time: 8:30am.
Location: TBD. Sit down preferred, even if we decide on SBUX. Anyone else have breakfast suggestion?
Route:
I think everyone will enjoy the route through GC Canyon (weather permitting) and either North or South on 110. (Maybe reverse the whole thing, start in Boulder? Louisville? Head up 36 and then South through Nederland, Rollinsville, etc. on 110. Suggestions welcome
Ultimately, looking forward to seeing you guys and want to be respectful of your time. Thanks in advance, your friendship means a lot.

I'd like to go but it will be both work and weather depending.
I will mark it on my calendar anyway just in case.

Greetings, hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!
Thank you all for your input, I think we're all set for next Saturday's meet and drive. Given a variety of factors, including the 12/14 club dinner, I think its best that we concentrate on what MINI's are known for - Driving Fun
That being said, here's the plan:
Date: 12/07/13
Time: 8:45am
Location: Starbucks (Sbux), 114 N. Rubey Dr. Golden, CO. 303-277-0086
Begin Drive: 9:30 (wheels rolling from Sbux parking lot)
Route: The route begins .2 from Sbux - right hand turn (north) on 93. 1st traffic light is left hand turn (west) Golden Gate Canyon Rd. Twisties begin in 1/2 mi - lots of them (P.S. keep ur eyes peeled for Johnny Law
)
Follow Golden Gate Canyon (Rte.46) - stay LEFT @ FORK (signs for Cone park).
Rte. 46 will connect @ the "T" intersection of 46 and CO 110 (brief check-in).
Right hand turn @ "T" continue north on 110 towards Rollinsville, Nederland.
Once in Nederland we will make a right hand turn at the roundabout following Boulder Canyon road SouthEast (SE) into Boulder. Once in Boulder everyone can venture into their respective Saturday shopping, etc.
End Drive: 12:00 or so..
Thanks in advance for all those planning to join us. Have a great week and wishes for good MINI driving weather!

Yeah, so, my directions are slightly, umm, different
. Ok, you're on to me, I made a giant "C" of a driving course - isn't that obvious lol.
If everyone keeps up, shouldn't be a problem..
Yes, for clarification, pauhana is correct
Thanks,

Thanks,
Chris, yes tentative, since it looks like we may be looking at the frozen North on Saturday morning. Play it by ear.
Most folks will probably be wanting to get out after 3 days of cold, check those road conditions.

Morning all. Baby it's cold outside!
However, we will not be deterred..
Hope to see you guys tomorrow @ 8:45, SBUX Golden.
Most likely a much slower drive but either way, still beautiful with snow covered classic Colorado winter scenery, sun blazing through the mountains and valleys as the ever-so-soft bunnies, deer, elk and various feather and fauna scamper about and RUN LIKE HELL to get out of the way of the extra-terrestrial MINI army coming through!

Looking forward to it..
Chris

Buzz kill
My garage queen (MINI) is not interested in driving through icy, snow packed sections of the mountain roads (according to CDOT); not to mention the gravel, grime and below-freezing temperatures. That's what my truck is for. Breakfast or lunch in town would be nice. There will be better days ahead, for sure. Let the snide remarks fly...
Sorry Chris, we will be with you in thought only. BLU's battery screamed "NO"!, or actually said "N........", and then I plugged him in and he said "No". The battery is fine, but a light weight battery does not do well in the Ultra freezing weather. The garage today said 20 degrees when I tried to start him up. Have fun and be safe! Happy Birthday!
Hi there! I RSVP'd but will be unable to make it. I couldn't find the link to take my name off. I'm disappointed :( I am still a newbie and would LOVE to meet more MINI people. I guess I will just have to wait for the fiesta.
Have fun and stay warm out there!

The calendar on NAM is funny, updating to add or take off turns off the about 72 hours before the event, sucks but real.
Sadly, the cold I have been trying to avoid all week after getting sick last Sunday has taken hold.
I will be warming my feet and hacking/sneezing away from those who make the drive.
Kinda like Rick and Rich, the MINI is staying clean and I will be better before the next event on the 14th, or I will at least drag myself down to say HI to folks and pay the bill for dinner.
Sorry Chris/Lisa and all.....

...and they're dropping like flies..
Looks like mother nature has played a cruel joke, 60+ degrees last weekend, -5 this weekend.
Maybe a re-schedule or not, however, let's cancel tomorrow's drive.
Thanks everyone for the consideration, have a good weekend.
