Relocated Starter housing thingy that I put the key into and push the button

Hey folks check it out, I took the thingy that I put the key in to start the car...and moved it about 4 inches away and zip tied it to the cd player. The cd player is zip tied in place...to the speedometer. and the fog light/window control button thingy is zip tied to the cd player. and the sport mode buttonc cluster is zip tied to the fog light window control button thingy. don't ask me why, I was bored, I don't know why. Why? Because Obamacare that's why.

Random observation: it doesn't matter how hard I push this thing on the highway...the MPGs keep on going up. WTF! Why couldn't my F150 do that...then I wouldn't be driving this mini! lolol kidding kidding, I love my emo mini. But no seriously, Im pushing 80-85 around the DC beltway (just to keep up with the flow of traffic) and I expect to look down and see 31-32 tops. Nope. 35...and rising. Amazing.

Granted...

My mini is completely gutted...so this may be a reason for higher than average mpgs. lol, the only items in my interior are a driver's seat. one seat belt. a spare tire. and a skateboard (in case I ever come across sweet jumps)

I also plasti dipped most of the chrome pieces. Now my mini looks emo. Hopefully my emo mini doesn't decide to cut itself...while I'm on my way to work. Well I guess I have my skateboard to scoot the rest of the way...

I also ordered orange rally stripes and Rigid Industries Dually d2s to replace the fog lights. I'll post pics up when I get all that sorted.

Pulling out the seats to reduce weight I an understand.... Those suckers are heavy....

But why the interior trim?.... That weighs what? 15 lbs combined, at most?

Hell, most race cars even have an intact dashboard.

To me, the only reason to completely gut a car is if you need to completely redo the wiring harness on a race car, because you don't benefit any by putting it back in......

But hey, if that's what tickles your fancy, more power to you.

I mean. I did this stuff when I was 16 because I thought I had a race car with my Honda Civic. Since you already said your answer to why, was Obamacare, which makes no sense..... But my question still is, WHY?

Although, to each his own, it just leaves me scratching my head. If you're going to go that far, at least remove anything else that's heavy. Drivers side airbag, AC, etc.

Do you race it? I get the impression this is cosmetic only, but perhaps your enthusiastic emo side is covering up the dangerous side? I know this reads like I'm teasing, but I swear I'm not. The pics are interesting, and background story always adds depth, so... yeah, I'll repeat what somebody else asked. Why?
