Wow! As always, we have been very busy - this time not only with product testing and updates, but customer service changes as well.

Some exciting new products:

Webb Motorsports Performance Head with Schrick cam

This head has flowed the best of any I've tested to date, and makes the most power I've seen from a head design. We flow bench each head, use larger Ferera stainless steel valves, change the valve angle, and use a Schrick cam. All of this has given us 215CFM on the intake side and 160CFM on the exhaust. The flow sheets come with your head. On a typically modified MINI Cooper S, the gains are in the 12 ft/lbs and 15 hp range. The cost, including the cam, is $1705 (not including the core charge for your head if you choose to keep it).

Unichip/Webb Motorsports ECU

This unit is a plug and play harness with a piggyback computer that allows us to change the performance parameters with extreme density, resulting in great power gains. The other bonuses are triple map availablility - stock, street gas, and race gas, driver function such as water injection, intercooler sprayer, or CO2 sprayer, and no interference if the dealer flashes your stock ECU. The unit is guaranteed to make more power than any other system on the market. We have developed 13 different maps for the most common performance modifications, including the JCW car.

Webb Motorsports Flash ECU

This is the latest in flash programing for the MINI, and finally brings a noticable gain into a reasonable price range. This ECU is a flash program, which overwrites the stock programming with new parameters. While the gains are slightly less than the Unichip provides, the price is very attractive at $550.

UUC Clutch Flywheel Kit

Finally there is a solution to the chatter boxes most aftermarket lightweight flywheels cause! This is a beautiful blue anodized, lightweight aluminum flywheel, made to work with a new spring centered clutch and heavier pressure plate. The spring centered clutch allows replacement of some of the vibration damping properties of the stock dual mass flywheel, making this system a little easier to bear on the street.

UUC Rear Swaybar

This solid bar is a 19mm bar, which works well with the Cooper suspension, and those nervous about a truly neutral S with a bigger bar. The big draw to this unit is the pricing, at $165! This unit is two position, and comes with collars to prevent lateral movement.

Pilo Rear Stress Bar

This unit has been on the car for some time now, through autocross and track days, and is very nice to use. It allows for the use of the stock rear seat's folding feature, while bracing the rear of the car (where the MINI really needs it). While I don't put much stock in the front strut braces, I do think the Pilo unit is a worthwhile upgrade. Though it doesn't brace directly between the rear shocks, it does provide a lateral brace, which stiffens the unibody.

Pilo Coilpack

This unit allows for a stronger primary spark with its upped voltage of 40,000 (compared to the stock 32,000). It can be used as a part of an entire ignition upgrade, or by itself to provide the stock system a little more punch. $75

Kingsbourne Wires

Eventhough we have been selling these for some time, they are just now going up on the website. We sell the firebraided, 9mm wires in both red and blue. $75

RDR Front Camber Plates

These units allow for camber adjustment without worry about toe or caster change (I checked). They will allow the stock spring perch up to -2.1 degrees. They are lineated as well, to return easily to another known setting for a day at the track and the drive home again.

UUC Brake Kit

This new brake kit is exciting for several reasons - one, it will work with certain 16" wheel applications, two, it works on the stock 17" wheels without spacers, three, it works with the stock C5 Corvette pad - making just about any pad manufacturer available for replacements, and finally, they look plain trick. The cost is reasonable as well at $1250.

Webb Motorsports Front Mount Intercooler

This is the ultimate intercooler solution on the market. It uses a carbon fiber runner from the "bullhorns" down to the intercooler, which is just big. Drops across the unit have been excellent in temp, and minimal in pressure. Being front mounted, we have been able to increase the size of the unit, as well as provide adequate exit path for the cooling air. There will initially be 5 units available, at a cost of $2300 - I know, it is expensive, but you have to pay to play sometimes  ). We will be having an open house mid-June, and will offer special rates on a pulley party at the new facility to launch it - schedule to be announced in the near future.

Second, and perhaps more importantly, we have hired Jon Kessel, a MINI enthusiat with track experience and a great technical background, who owns a Cooper of his own. Jon will be assisting with customers, shipping, and inventory, as well as making the entire business run smoothly - no small task! Jon will be starting here June 1, and I look forward to the experience he brings.

Third, we are working on developing a customer support phone network that will include Mike Cooper in Arizona who has taken his car down to the crank and back more than once, and Dennis Miniero in New York who is one of the most meticulous MINI Cooper S owners I know. Both of these guys are being trained in Webb Motorsports philosphy to be able to provide as much information as possible on product lines, technical info, and availability. Once the phone networking is sorted out, this new service will be available nationwide.

Fourth, we are implementing a shopping cart for the website that will still provide an interface with one of the experts before your order is finalized. If there is a part that looks suspicious for your application (coilovers and big brakes jump to mind), you will still be contacted by someone you can talk with to be sure that part is right for you. This will allow point and click shopping, while still maintaining the custom touch that Webb Motorsports provides in making sure your parts are matched for the use of your car.

I want to personally thank all of you who have continued to support Webb Motorsports through the rapid expansion and the teething problems that caused. As you can see, those will soon be a thing of the past, as we expand to offer more services for the MINI community. Most of the new changes will be implemented by June 1, and all of them should be in place by the middle of July.

Look for the new products to phase into the catalog section of the website over the next few weeks, but as always, if you want something you don't see, let us know! Chances are we either do carry it, or don't for a reason.

I look forward to working with the MINI community for years to come! As always, let us know if you have any suggestions at all for bettering our product offerings or customer interface.
