Hi guys, I just bought a used Cooper S and it has a couple of deep rock chips on the hood. The chips are through the clear coat and paint. I was wondering if anyone could recommend any putty or resin products that I can use as filler? Repair kits? I already purchased the Mini touch up paint for after I fill in the chips. Thanks!

 

If you fill it, you'll have to sand it, which will make it bigger to paint. Just touch up with paint OR spend the $ for a repaint IMO.

 

the MINI t/u paint is very thick ... just build up coats ... you'll probably end up with a raised blob which you can then safely work on with

Thanks guys. Have you guys ever heard of Scratch Wizard? It uses a putty that you squeegee off, leaving the putty only in the scratch or chip, than you paint over it. No, I've not seen it. But I've also never seen a patch that didn't need sanded, on anything. I'd just use t/u paint myself (which I also need to do to mine) good luck!
