Will R53 parts fit on a R50?

Will R53 parts such as the spoiler, bumpers, side skirts, hood, and exhaust fit on a R50? I want to put a spoiler on my r50 and a rear bumper from a r53 and run dual exhaust.

The body of an r50 and r53 are the same. I think the biggest challenge you'll have is the exhaust.

An r53 does not have room for its battery in the engine compartment, so an r53 from the factory had its battery located in the trunk under the carpet.

Also, an r53 does not have a spare tire under the boot. There's no room with the battery, resonator and muffler.

I'm sure there are plenty of options for getting dual exhaust tips to come out from the center in the back, but I bet that getting the factory r53 exhaust system to bolt up with factory fasteners (exhaust hangers) would take a bit of modification to say the least.

The attached photo pertains to a one-ball mod, but it shows the underside of an r53, the heat shield to protect the battery in the middle, etc. you're r50 has a spare tire there, no?

As mentioned above, parts from the R53 will fit the R50. When I had my '06 R50, I put the side skirts and chrome fuel filler door from an R53 on it. I called it a "counterfeit R53). The rear bumper and exhaust will work, but as mentioned, you will need to lose the spare tire. R53s did not have spare tires, but they had the batteries in a well under the boot, so you will need to change the hangers. I know people who have done it. By the way - you don't need to change the whole bumper (unless you want to). You can just swap out the black valance under the bumper for one off of an R53. This will give you the center exit for the exhausts.

I'm about to replace my R50's hood... Was thinking of going with the more sporty look of the r53 hood. Any reason I shouldn't do this? Im pretty sure it won't negatively affect the car, but can anyone fill me in before I shop for a hood?

yeah the only thing that is needed to swap for the r53 exhuast is the rear valence, the 3 pieces. getting an r53 exhaust, will have to be modified in your undercarrige. or a completly custom setup that can get around everything. i was actually looking into going single sided exhaust like the r50.

ecstuning has the valence parts preety cheap, or you could find somone local who wants to swap. or even a junk yard or ebay. but the two side valences i think also need to be swapped. from what ive briefly seen unless you want a slight mismatch, i think the S rear valence comes down an extra .25 or .5 inches

and the rest of those pieces will fit no prob

So many cars are getting junked and parted out....
Many here in the marketplace.... Find one semi-local, and go get the parts.
Your main issue will be paint...actually costs more than the NEW PARTS, which are delivered unpainted....
Also not sure how you will get the trims on the side to match up.....so you might need to do a few more parts to make it look OK.

There is official mini retrofit instructions for the auto climate control. You could use the diagrams to make your own harness and get the parts from a donor car and follow it, it wouldn't be that hard just a lot of work. I have attached the instructions.
