Problems with my 2009 fJCW psi
Hi all. First post here on this forum but I have found this forum to be the most informative on the net by far...would like to say a big thank you to all members for their contributions. I am a Scottish man living and working in Turkey so due to living here it is sometimes difficult to find expert help, especially in the remote region where I live.
About 6 months ago I bought a very lightly used fJCW. The car had 5000 miles on it when purchased. It has had a considerable amount of money thrown at it. The car has had a lot of Alta upgrades including Alta CAI, Alta exhaust system, Alta Stubby antenna, Alta boost port adaptor, Alta hot side boost tube, Alta turbo inlet tube, HKS blow off valve, Superchips remap, JCW front and rear anti-sway bar, JCW alcantara steering wheel, gear shift and hand brake with carbon, carbon dash inserts, carbon scoop, rear diffuser, wing mirror caps, and wing spoiler, H&R coilovers, MINI spotlights, Sprintbooster and water and boost gauges.
I have had a few issues with my car. After about 1500 miles, the clutch went. Had a new one installed. No problems but the gears feel notchy when the car is cold...after warming up there seems to be no problem...is this usual?
..also I am getting the 2885 boost fault code when I accelerate hard in the upper gears eg 4th-6th. I have a water temp gauge and boost gauge in the car...interesting thing is just before limp mode kicks in the gauge bleeps to warn me that something is up...in the lower gears I experience no problems whatsoever but past 4th there is something wrong...if i drive the car the code usually clears itself within 30 mins...WTF...this is the problem that is driving me nuts the most.
Also, I am planning to get the car serviced next month which means I need to do a very long road trip to the nearest reliable dealer. In the meantime the yellow brake warning light has come on with the exclamation mark surrounded by brackets. According to the computer the car should have had the brake fluid changed over a year ago but due to the very low mileage, I just put it off...the car currently has about 14000 miles on it. I checked the pads and fluid and they seem fine...could this warning be purely a time related warning as it is now 1 year overdue?
Any thoughts on these problems would be GREATLY appreciated guys....

First thing is, you have to know what the boost is. A Scangauge, or torque app or a real boost gauge will let you know if you are exceeding the map sensor limits.
Change the brake fluid. Every two years. It not a mileage thing, it a time thing. Brake fluid absorbs water from the atmosphere, whether you drive it or not.
At least check the tranny fluid level. Replace it if you want. (I used Red Line MTL and it's fine.)
I've heard nothing good about Superchips tuning, but no 1st hand experiance.

Cheers. Have moved my post to the fJCW section...sorry for posting about this here...am new to the forum. Thanks for your comments...I have booked my car into a MINI specialist in Istanbul next week. I will tell him exactly what you told me. Fingers crossed.
