My Yokohamas are in need of replacement and I did not like them. No traction in turns and no tread life. Can somebody recommend a summer performance tire that is:

• modestly priced
• handles OK in the rain (Doesn't happen often but when it does the crazies come out and I want to be able to avoid them )
• good tread life

I tried General Exclaims before and they simply did not hold up...blew through three of them. Found the Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110 on Tire rack, curious if it's any good?

The Continental ExtremeContact DW max performance summer tires are comfortable, wear well,
are good in the dry, moderately priced, are lighter than average, are available in 205/50/16 and
205/45/17, and are fantastic in the wet.
It also got better survey results than the Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110 on Tire Rack.

 

I don't recall which Yoko, but I run stock 205/45/17. And thanks for the recommendation...those look good.

 

Another to seriously consider in 205/45/17 is the Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position.
It's only $104 now and although a bit heavier than the Cont DW, it's overall a little better
tire than the DW.
