Best prices on tires online for MINI's?
Best prices on tires online for MINI's?
It's time for a new set of tires for the mini again. Just wondering who you guys are getting your tires from. I've tried local stores, but they are all very high on price...online stores look like the way to go. Anyone else out there that has good prices besides tirerack?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Tirebuyer.com beat tire rack for me cause shipping was free....and the tires were the same $$ as tire rack.....
Deals will change day by day...and location by location (shipping might be free to some areas, but $$ to others)....

I bought my last set from Costco and had a friend install them. But the time before that I just got tires form tirerack. Both had good prices, costco got them for cheaper (free shipping).

I buy all my tires from Tire Rack. Don't forget that you have to add shipping (runs me about $50 a set), and then you have to take them someplace to get mounted and balanced. Around me, the cheapest place charges $20 a tire to mount and balance. Some places are as high as $35 a tire.
So you really need to add about $150 to the price you see online, which usually ends up close to what the local stores charge.

I always buy from my local tire shop. If you buy from tire rack you still have to have the local guy mount and balance them, so when you bring your own tires it's like taking your own steak to a restaurant and asking them to cook it to save you a buck. Plus most tire shops charge a premium to install tires not purchased from them, as they have to make up for the lost revenue of not selling the tires originally.

I had been buying tires from Tire Rack and have always had a good experience with them, however, the last time I bought tires (for my wife's car) I used a local garage/tire dealer. I was glad I did because it saved me a lot of trouble. The bottom line was about the same as TR when taxes, shipping and installation were all accounted for. However, she wasn't happy at all with a set of Contis I got for her Acura and no amount rotating or balancing would make the tires right. The dealer took them back and put on a set of Michs with no questions asked, no additional charges, and no down time. They would not have done that with tires I had purchased on-line.
I got my set of Hankook winters (which are great so far.) for $612 delivered vs. $915 locally. Even after paying for mount/balance I'm up $200+, and I still spent a little cash locally.
TireRack is great, but they don't offer free shipping. Also I didn't get a reply from Alex about the last two or three things I needed from there (Brake stuff, etc.) I used his reference code anyway because he's been helpful in the past, but I'll be getting tires from DTD from now on. Customer service was great.

I buy mine locally from the Goodyear Service center. 205 45/17 Eagle GT for $115 each. They have GT&R employee sales (although pricing applies to everyone) a couple of times a year and I like the products offered. All my vehicles run on Goodyears.
