I have, what I think is a bad fan or temp unit. I'm just now getting into it, but I noticed the fan isn't on when the engine is plenty hot and shows mid way on the gauge. An inferred thermometer showed 195° water in reservoir. Surely that should be hot enough for the fan to be on.
Please give me a list of what to check first, I'll check the fuse first, but after that???

If the A/C is on, the low speed fan should be running all the time. If A/C is off, I believe low speed comes on around 216F and high speed north of 230F.
