Why you should check your mounts if you suspect mushrooming

Hey all,

Just another example of why it is wise to check your top strut mounts if you suspect tower mushrooming.

When I got the car, I saw I had mushrooming, but believed it was limited to only the towers. After buying CravenSpeed Defenders I attempted to fit them before flattening and realized that the studs did not even come close to fitting inside the holes in the plate. After this finding I ordered and replaced my strut mounts this weekend.

Yes the job can be a pain if you have the tools to do it yourself (especially if you break the pinch bolt, but I got lucky with mine.) But I feel that if you're going to fix it, fix it right and forget it.

Attached are some pictures of the strut mount carnage.

Don't think I have to worry too much with the defenders on
