New Summer Tires....What Brand/type?

Hello Everyone,

Alright N.E.W. MINI Club....my MINI is due for a new pair of shoes. I need something that can handle my level of fun. Meaning I obey all posted speed limits and drive like an A-dult....No seriously. I am looking for a set of summer tires that will take an occasional track day, and maybe some touring track days. But the main life of the tires will be summer street driving. I've looked at Pirelli P-Zero tires, Michelin Super Sport tires, and some Bridgestone tires. Looking for the best possible bang for my buck deal and not interested in run flat tires. Good old regular black wall tire only for this MINI nut.

If anyone has a brand that they like please let me know and what about them do you like?

Thanks,

Matson

Pilot Super Sports. Best tires I've had on a car. Don't have them on the mini because I just got it but have them on my M3.

+1 for Mich PSS, come with a 30k mile warranty now too. I have 20k on mine of hard driving (no track, but retarded in town driving and 1 dragon visit) and still have like 40% life left (4/32 or so)

Very glad to hear that now come with a 30k mile warranty. Those tires are a little more expensive than I was hoping they'd be...but doing a little digging around for info on my own, it seems all signs point to the Mich PSS. From the owner's and the cars that they have chosen to put them on. All adds to what I am looking get out of a brand/type of tire. I am hoping to at least get two seasons out of a set like this mainly due to the price lol, and the way I drive. Seeing that you went to the dragon with a set of these and liked for that awesome bit of road. I'm glad to hear. If I were to get this set of tires I want something I can trust for the first time I get to tare up...Uh...I mean drive on the dragon like an A-dult.

Looking to make that pilgrimage to the MINI holy ground in 2014

Thanks, Matson
