Where can I buy GP2 Coilovers?
Where can I buy GP2 Coilovers?
Or maybe just the adjustable springs?
My theory is, shocks are allowed in D-stock, so I can go with the Koni's I already ordered.
But rather than go ahead with the Swift springs, get just the spring and adjusters if possible.
Did the people who have them only get them used?
I saw a post mentioning that ECStuning would have them. That post was 4 months old and they don't have them.
Also can't find anything on miniusa

Springs are not allowed in D-stock which will be D street next year. Putting the adjusters (sleeves with adjustable spring perches) on your Konis effectively makes them a coilover. The setup that most of the minis run is the Koni shocks with the red JCW springs.
GP springs onto any mini other than a GP is not legal in stock/street auto-x if you're playing by SCCA rules.

I see.
I've been told the same thing by some people concerning putting parts from the Mazdaspeed Miata onto a regular NB. But others have said if it's OEM and on the same car in same year, fair game.
Anyway, apparently the adjusters are on the shock, so the whole set up would have to be purchased.
ECS said they've been waiting to hear back from Mini on the rears and has no time frame.
Looks like I'll just go ahead with the Koni Yellows and Swift springs. Still unfair, but that's SCCA.

Just because it was on the same car in the same year doesn't necessarily mean it's legal. Keep in mind we're just talking about stock/street class here because Street Prepared allows update/backdate which is an entirely different animal. Basically for stock/street class if you couldn't order the car that way from the factory then you can't do it. Since the JCW springs were a factory installed "JCW Sport suspension" upgrade you could get on MCS and JCW cars the JCW springs can be installed on JCWs and MCS. You don't have to use the shocks because shocks are "open" in stock/street. Since you can't order a JCW with the GP suspension you can't put the GP suspension on the JCW. You can almost consider them a different model.
Now you can do things like "package conversions" in stock class. I'm not hugely familiar with the concept but for example if you had a S that you wanted to make a JCW you could do a "JCW package conversion". This doesn't mean that you can just slap the JCW turbo or other bits from the JCW onto the S and call it a package conversion. You have to do the complete conversion. That means the pistons, transmission, brakes, turbo, ECU, etc all have to be swapped over. You have to essentially turn it into a JCW in it's entirety. You can't just cherry pick the parts you want off a different model.
Clear as mud?

Sorry but you need to review the rules for Solo. The GP coilovers, or ANY change from factory springs is NOT allowed. You are allowed to use the JCW springs from the JCW suspension kit, but that is the ONLY springs besides the ones that came on your car you are allowed to install.
Please feel free to call us for help and getting you parts legal for your MINI. We have run at the AutoX nationals, and have worked with several SCCA National Champions including Craig Wilcox that won the Prosolo final last year, and got 2nd in Dstock. And David Hedderick that placed second in a MINI in STF at Nationals this year.
We can get you ANY parts you need for your MINI even if you don't see it on our site.
Oh and the GP is not legal for DS as Craig and I tried to get it classed in DS this year, it would have been a contender.
