Someone I know has a set of anthracite Flik Wasps on his car and has ordered a set of something else. His wife won't let him keep both sets of wheels, so he said he'd "do me a good price" on them if I want them.
I've looked around the web and have seen them around $100 each for new ones.
Can anyone give me an idea of a fair price for a used set?
I don't know yet what he's doing about tires.

How many miles? Road rash? If they're in good condition (no marks), I'd say $75 each...

Do you want them, do you WANT them, or do you HAVE TO HAVE THEM??

I paid $1,138.00 for wheels and tires and when I sold them (to a friend) I let him have them for $400.00. They had about 12,000 miles on them but still in good shape. Keep in mind this was a friend and not just a sale.

They look to be in pretty good shape, he's going to HAVE to sell them if he wants to stay married and while I do want them, I certainly don't need them.

I am getting the same exact wheels from Edge Racing (a sponsor here). They sell them for $120 a wheel.

If they are in good shape and low mileage, probably around $70-$80 a wheel would be fair.

Personally I think those would look awesome on your Yellow MINI.

Basically they are almost the same exact wheel that comes stock on the new 40th Anniversary MCS.

$200 for the set sounds reasonable to me.

You can get factory s-lites slightly used for $300 now days.

Yeah, with all the people going aftermarket on wheels, factory wheels get real cheap.
However, I don't really like the look of the S-lites. They look enough like classic Minilites to remind me of them, and different enough that they gratingly remind me that they aren't. But that's just a personal thing.
I have noticed that these wheels come in various sizes, and I'm not sure what size he has. Different sizes are different prices.
Lurch, when I looked at Edge Racing last week (or maybe the week before) they had these wheels on sale, $99 a wheel for the 16" I think.

A basic guide I go by buying used anything - except rare books - Anything used = half price of original at most.

I'm with Joe: with rare exceptions, anything used starts at half price and goes down from there.

Offer him $200 for the set. If the wheels are prefect and include good tires with decent tread, I'd go as high as $350

DVLMINI, don't be worried. The trick is to get all the toys you want/need BEFORE you get married. Of course you will always want/need more, but if your new bride starts out being accustomed to having several sets of wheels/tires in the garage or bedroom, she will be properly desensitized right off the bat!
