sunroof seal shot?

I was looking at my sunroof and noticed a seam that water leaks into, it goes across the whole roof. I washed my car and water does go into this space, is it ok? where does it drain out? heres a photo, its on the left where that dried grass blade is in.

There should be runners that drain water out of your sunroof. These need to be cleaned out once in a while to make sure they can function. Does your headliner get wet?

If the drains are clogged you will get water near the front and drips on the headliner near the rear-view mirror. If clogged / disconnected. in the back you will get it on the rear headliner or in the trunk

Here is a diagram and list from another thread I posted on:

Check the to cassette where the water drains in the corners. Sunroof drain tubes. They can clog with debris and such. There are two in the front and two in the rear. Also if they are clean and look ok the drain tube might be leaking. You have to get behind the headliner and A pillars to see. Since its in the front you will want to check #2 connection as the problem.

For Gen 2 R55 R56 MINI models , they have they same general set up as the Gen 1. Check the connection at the hose to the tray and also check to see if debris clogged the sunroof tray near the hose connection.

The seal #8 in the diagram above is in the middle, your does not look too bad, but I cant tell if its fully marking contact on the seal.

Here is the new seal. #8 Part # 54102755851
