R60 On The Fence Types
On The Fence Types
Okay had the crystal silver with black roof auto "S" for 6 months now and gonna take a look back from day 1. .
I was really really worried about the maintenance history on the CM reading thru all the various negative yet infomative posts. But loved the look, feel and ride of the car so took the leap
And yessirree buddy I am so glad I did. I love this ride. I have put on close to 13k miles in this 6 months- I find excuses just to get in and tool around in it. "Hey Hon we are out of milk"- Bam I am gone off to the store. HA
To date I have had it in 3 times- oil change, some rattles I heard that were actually coming from my garage door opener and a road debris htting my intercooler front grille damage.
The ride is simply outstanding, fun and with a slight push on the gas pedal off you go. Car seems to be at it's "spot" cruising between 70-80 mph. It is a pleasure to park with it's smaller form factor and I have adopted the "respect to others" by parking back a bit so people know your in that slot.
Have really come to accept the run flats- really not a bad tire form but when it comes time to change them I will go to non run flats to see what all the fuss is about. Probably the Michelin Pilots
Interior- Seems to fix 4 adults comfortably. Mainly it's just me or my wife driving solo.
Dig all the controls and placement of them. Hardly ever use the large speedo- but it makes for a good conversation piece. One wish would be a backup camera.
Also read up stuff in the detailing section and now have the right products to make this girl shine- Vacuum and dust once a week and hit the seats and focused detail about once a month.
Exterior- has only seen carwashes. (You OCD detailers- I know your shutttering at that) but car handles it well. May get it waxed in the next month or so.
I did upgrade the sound system and its like a small concert hall that drowns out any sunroof open road noise. Oh and the sunroof is fine but tends to be on the noisy side. May get it tinted later this year.
Lastly- I think the key is finding a good shop that you have faith and trust in. Our Mini dealer - Hendrix has blown me away with their customer service.
So if your on the fence I hope some of these comments help to dispel any negatives you hear about the car. I think a lot of people are digging this car because I am seeing more and more hitting the road daily.
