measurement of hatch opening?

Does anyone happen to have the measurements of the hatch opening on the Countryman? I'm looking at buying one (looking at 2012 used CM S). I have photo equipment to haul, and a few of the cases are a specific size - but the "tallest" is about 25 inches tall and 15 inches wide. SO I am trying to find if it will fit (It can't lay on its side).

thanks in advance...

It is definitely more than 25" high and 15" wide. Take your stuff to the dealer and try it out.

yea thanks I was planning on doing that already. But the cases are pretty heavy, so was trying to push that off. It is one of those little things that every car manufacture loves to say "we have xyz amount of cargo space!" but never actually says how BIG the opening to that cargo space is...

I asked the salesperson at the dealer for a tape measure (I went on Saturday) but she said the mechanics had all gone for the day and locked their tool boxes up. And I forgot to take mine.

I measured a Clubman (my friends) and the hatch is like 24.5 (my case is really about 24, but I gave a little wiggle room). It is a little tight for me, which is why looking at the Countryman. I KNEW the countryman was wider than that, but if the roof HIGHPOINT is like 26, but then slopes to the side, a 15" solid box might not fit. Hence me mentioning that.

Thanks for your help though

Just measured min and it 29.5" in the middle. It slops down to about 28" on the sides. On the drivers side there is a little pod that holds the third seat belt. It sticks down to about 27" high.

Hope that helps.

That definitely helps. Still planning on taking the box to the dealer next time i can test drive. Just spoke to the salesperson this AM, and the car I have my eye on is still on the lot.

Thanks!
