The Calgary Sports Car Club is hosting a 12 event Solo II Series in Calgary and Red Deer. This Includes a the Yokohama Kal-Tire Rookie Championship where you can win a set of Race tires.

2004 Calgary Sports Car Club Solo II Championship & 2004 Yokohama – Kal-Tire Rookie of the year



Registration and Entry Fees:

Calgary Sports Car Club Members:

-$20 for online registration at http://www.karelo.com
-$25 at the event site.

Non-Member:

-$35 for online registration at http://www.karelo.com
-$40 at the event site

ASN affiliated clubs members (Alberta Solo Association, VCMC, etc.) will also qualify for the club membership price. You must present your club membership card at the event to qualify for this price, if you do not you will be charged the non-member price. No exceptions.
Note: you must be a member of the Calgary Sports Car Club to obtain points in the Club Championship and the Yokohama – Kal-Tire Rookie of the year championship.



Tech/Registration:

Red Deer: -7:00 am to 8:45 am closes @ 8:45 am sharp
To better serve the racing community, there will be NO pre-tech for all our events.
All vehicle safety check (tech) and check-in will be done on race day.

Calgary: -5:00 pm to 5:45 pm closes @ 5:45 pm sharp
To better serve the racing community, there will be NO pre-tech for all our events.
All vehicle safety check (tech) and check-in will be done on race day.

Note: You most present you car and helmet at technical inspection in competition trim. (Empty of all loose items with your competition tires mounted)


Drivers Meeting:

Red Deer: -9:00 am to 9:20 am, All competitors must attend

Calgary: - 6:00 pm to 6:20 pm, All competitors must attend

First car Out:

Red Deer: -9:30 am
Calgary: -6:30 pm

Run/Work Order: To Be Announced at Drivers Meeting.

Internet registration: Online registration payable with immediate credit card transaction or bring cash/cheque on race day. Please check our website http://www.cscc.ab.ca for details to register online.
Please register early to save money and time, online registration cut off is 24 hours prior to each event.
Please check-in with registration crew to confirm your personal & vehicle information, a separate queue for online registered entrants will be available. You must be able to provide proof of ownership of the vehicle or have a letter from the owner stating you are given permission to compete.

Yokohama – Kal-Tire Rookie of the year Championship

Eligibility:

-Competitors must NOT have competed in more than 4 Sanctioned Automobile racing events before the 2004 competition year.

-If you are unsure if you qualify please contact the Solo II Director, Colin Armstrong by email at colinarm@shaw.ca. The Rookie Championship is for true rookies and not for those who are experienced racers/drivers that are new to Solo II.

-Competitors MUST compete in all 12 of the Calgary Sports Car Club 2004 Solo II events in Red Deer and Calgary. Championship will be decided as per system set out in the Supplemental Regulations. (see #15)

- Yokohama race Tires in a size of the Competitors choice.
- Wheels at Kal-Tire’s Cost price.

Second Place and Third Place:

SUPPLIMENTAL REGULATIONS

1. RULES: These events will be held under the 2004 CNAC Solo Events Rules and General Competition Rules as they apply.

2. QUALIFICATIONS: All Competitors must possess a current valid driver's license, and be at least 16 years old on the day of the event. Drivers under the age of 18 must have written permission from a parent or guardian.

3. SPEED LIMITS: The off-course speed limit is 15 km/h. This applies to all pit and staging
areas, as well as any site entry/exit roads. Local speed limits also apply. VIOLATORS WILL BE SUBJECT TO IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION AND WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE SITE.

4. INTOXICANTS: Absolutely no alcoholic beverages or drugs will be permitted on the event site. Competitors are not allowed to compete under the influence of such substances. VIOLATORS WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE SITE.

5. CHILDREN & PETS: The pre-grid and course areas are completely off limits to small children and animals. Pets must be adequately leashed or otherwise secured.

6. TIMING VEHICLE/AREA(S): Official vehicles/areas are for authorized event personnel only, and you are NOT authorized.

7. SITE AMENITIES: Fuel, air, and helmets may not be readily available at the event site.
Competitors are advised to be prepared for such unavailability.

8. HELMETS: Helmets are required for all competitors. A minimum Snell 95 rating is required.

9. SCCA VEHICLES: Vehicles prepared to SCCA Solo II classes are allowed to compete as long as they are correctly classified in the corresponding CNAC classification with consideration given to levels of modification.

10. WORK REQUIREMENT: All Competitors must complete work assignments to be eligible for individual event times and Championship Series points. NO WORK = NO POINTS AND NO TIMES. Competitors who offend a second time will be asked to leave the event site and will not be welcome back at the next event. If you race you must work.

11. OUT OF GROUP RUNS: Competitors needing to run outside of their assigned run group must do so in writing to the Chief Event Organizer prior to the day of the event. Adequate justification (eg; work conflict) is required. Out of group runs shall be noted on the scoreboard. Competitors running out of group may be subject to protest if a weather change influences results in their favour. If such a protest is filed, an appropriate time penalty will be determined by the Steward(s) of the Event.

12. OUT OF GROUP WORKING: Out of group working must be submitted to the Chief Event Organizer in writing prior to the first affected work group time.

13. REGULAR CLASSES: All cars shall run according to the 2004 car classifications, as amended from time to time by CNAC.

14. PAX CLASSES: These will be calculated as per the CSCC PAX Schedule (see last page).

PAX times are calculated as follows:
Time = (raw time x PAX index) + pylon penalties

15. AWARDS: Trophies will be awarded to Competitors attending the minimum 8 events out of 12 Championship Events according to participation levels as outlined in the CNAC Solo Rule Book. A Competitor must be a CSCC Membership holder to qualify for a trophy. A Competitor wishing to earn points in the Championship must possess a CSCC Membership before registering for the event the points were earned in. A Competitor may NOT buy a membership after competition to qualify for points. NO MEMBERSHIP = NO POINTS

Yokohama – Kal-Tire Rookie of the year Competitors will be classed in their regular car classes. Points for the Rookie of the year will be calculated using the Performance Adjusted Index (PAX) as per the CSCC PAX Schedule (see last page)

16. SCORING: The fastest of any official timed runs, plus penalties, shall be used to determine final event rankings. Penalties shall be 2 seconds for each displaced pylon as per the 'Down-&-Out Rule', (Fig. 1 below).

Any missed gates result in a DNF (Did Not Finish). More that two wheels off the pavement results in a DNF (Did Not Finish). Non-CSCC Membership drivers will also be considered for event results. Non-CSCC Membership drivers will NOT be considered for championship results.


17. RESPECT THE SITE: Please do not litter. Keep your pit area safe. Any and all fluids removed from a vehicle must be taken with you at the end of the event day.

18. PASSENGER POLICY: Passengers WILL be allowed on runs during a CSCC Championship event. Passengers are permitted in the Rookie Championship subject to limitations – Rookies may not drive with another rookie as a passenger until after competing in 4 events this competition year.


19. NOISE LIMITATIONS: Current CNAC noise limits in effect. Vehicles exceeding this limit shall forfeit any subsequent runs unless noise can be controlled. Please make sure your vehicle complies. (NO EXCEPTIONS)
