I love driving my MINI, however I was getting quite the sore left foot. I was starting to fear having to get rid of the car. It reminded me of the nightmare of buying a Fiero new in 1985, and eventually selling it due to a too heavy clutch. The MINI clutch is not that terribly heavy tho. I read other forums and one idea was different shoes, different seating position. My own $20 solution fixed it, thankfully. I thought the problem was not necessarily the firmness of the clutch, but might be the MINI's mini clutch pedal digging into my foot. I installed the pictured pedal cover and the added surface area prevents the pedal from digging into my foot. Problem solved, no more foot pain and can go for long drives in total comfort.

 

What year is your MINI? The clutch has changed a lot over the years. The 05 was the heaviest, the 12 and 13s are the lightest.

 

It's a 2006. My cheap fix woks, but do you think that when it is time to replace the clutch the 2013 parts can be used?
