Disable TPMS?
TPMS is a federal mandate. Outside of flashing your ECU, you will be unable to get rid of the warning light.
Tire type is not an issue as the Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensor is looking at relative air pressure. If you still have a warning light, your either need to reset the TPMS or one of your sensors is bad. If you haven't changed them since 2005, likely you have dead batteries and just need to replace all 4 sensors.

If you absolutely must, electrical tape does the job if you place it directly in your line of sight to the warning symbol. This is what I have done in my race car, so that when I'm looking down periodically to check gauges I'm not alerted to a non-issue.
Does the 05 cabrio have the wheel hub TPMS like the 05 hardtop?
In mine, there was a TPMS button on the shift console. Don't recall the steps, but you reset it so that it adjusts for the new tires.
In the earlier cars the TPMS was not part of the valve stems like on the cars today. It was calculated based on a sensor in the wheel hub that measured rotation of the wheel. Low tire/flat tire/change in tires would trigger it.

It is the same as your 05r50.
- Locate the reset button positioned in front cabin on the emergency brake handle.
- Turn the ignition to position 2, press and hold the reset button until the yellow indicator on the dash lights up for a few seconds.
- The vehicle is now ready to recalibrate the TPS system on your next drive. After a few minutes of driving, the system will calibrate to the newly-installed or adjusted tires and properly set the pressures to be monitored.
It uses the abs sensors to count tire rotations....
It is called indirect tpms..
Next to the e-brake handle, there is a button to press to reset the system....
