R59 Crap!
Crap!
Well, my plans of driving a new Mini Roadster every three years (for the rest of my driving days) just went up in smoke... I love this car... For the time being, I will just relax and enjoy the ride - top down, of course... Plenty of time to think of a plan "B"...

Obviously you guys have more means than I
... We save and pay cash. No loans for us
My other car is 8 yrs old and in mint condition inside and out. You wouldn't know it 8 yrs old... and I'll probably keep it for some more yrs.

We're keeping the Roadster for the long run!
Anyone else intend to keep their roadster for a long time? . . . I feel a bit alone here

Spiney, Gil...
I keep my cars through warranty, then dump... I enjoy new cars, and at my age (65) the procedure / transition is more urgent ...
It sounds like the replacement will be here while we are still in warranty, so we will have the opportunity to evaluate ...
I don't want a sports car. I want a roadster. And in my mind there is a distinction...
In the mean time I have 4,500 miles on my roadster and loving it.... Even going out to get a coffee is an enjoyable experience ...
I must decide whether to get snows / wheels ... I might try to get through the winter with what I have..
All the best,

Keep it.
I agree with TG. If a car is worth having, it's worth taking care of and keeping for a long time. Today's cars aren't like the throw-away cars of the past. I love it when my steering wheel, the buttons, and the shift stick **** have been worn smooth from use.
I'm not too worried about whether MINI repalces the Roadster with something even cooler or kills the idea entirely. They made the R59. I bought one. I dig it. I'll drive it for five years, at least. After that, I'll evaluate the market and buy another car I dig.
