3rd party extended warranty

Does anyone have recommendations for a third party extended warranty? My factory warranty will be extinct by the end of next week after only 17 months of ownership. Unfortunately, I am the owner of a VERY problematic CMS4. In those 17 months it has had 10 warranty claims. The dealer wants $1800 to extend, and I'm sure I can find a better deal out there! I have heard good things about Costco's warranty but, I am not a member, and the closest store is almost 40 miles away. Not sure if its feasible to shell out $55 a year for a membership that we really won't be able to use.

So...
Who's had good or bad experiance with a 3rd party warranty?

Thanks for your input!

If the $1,800 is a factory bumper 2 bumper warranty I would say that is not a bad deal. It really depends on the fine print and exclusions Mini uses..

I have a few aftermarket warranties...One went bankrupt and the other one I lost when I sold the car.

Best of luck

I am not a member of USAA unfortunately.

I did find out that my Bumper-Bumper is not done yet. The dealer was leading me astray somewhat I think. They told me I would only be able to get the bad clutch replaced as long as it died before 36K miles. Otherwise I should pay the $1800 and extend the warranty to 100K. After talking to the Auto broker I use, he informed me that that would only extend my "maintenance plan", and not my warranty. Factory bumper-bumper is 4yr 50k miles. So I still have 16k miles to go (or 7 months with my standard weekly driving). At that time I will buy out the lease and add an extended warranty!

I found out extended warranty don't cover wear items, a clutch is a wear item and not covered , so read the fine print

Yes, understand the difference between the maintenance and warranty. they cover different items, end at different times, and cost differently to expend.
