My Countryman saved me today.

We have had our Countryman for almost 2.5yrs and have loved every minute of it. It has never given us any problems and has always provided lots of fun and I have always taken car of her. Today she paid me back in spades. This morning I was on a major highway with two lanes each way separated by a large grass median. I was going the speed limit of around 70mph. Suddenly a full size fully inflated semi tire was coming toward me across the median at about 60mph I"m guessing. I think it may have fallen out of a truck going the other way. It was massive and coming fast bouncing straight toward me. It all happened in a matter of seconds but I was able to swerve at the last second so the tire did not hit me head on in the windshield. The tire hit the rear driver side and jolted the car hard. But my little countryman swayed and fishtailed with the hard hit but held onto the road like she wasn't going to let that get us. Yes I am biased because we own a CM but I honestly feel like the handling of our CM saved me from something that could have been much worse. My swerve to avoid the tire in most other cars would have been to much but my girl handled it no problem....and going 70mph no less. Just thought I would share this story as I truly felt like she saved me from something worse today....I don't have a scratch on me.

Glad to hear you came out of that unscathed. Over the years of owning Minis, I can definitely attest to the superior handling these little cars have. I hope your CM will be ok too.
