Hi all, I recently pickup a new jcw CM and I only have great things to say about the car so far, except that it suddenly doesn't auto lock any more this morning. This happened to my previous clubman too when it was new. And when I brought it to the dealer, they resetted it for me by pressing and holding the center lock toggle switch for about 20 seconds. And problems were solved back then. But this time I tried using the same trick, and it did not work. So I wonder if the CM has a different reset trick or what? Apparently it is, but do you guys know how to reset auto lock on the CM?

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

-Calvin

Did you happen to use the second key fob. Each key keeps it's own settings. Do you have connect?

No I don't have connect, I have been using the same key since day one.

I tried to configure my key setting from the obc ****(turn signal ****), but there seems to be missing configure option.

The dealer can probably program it for you.

Bringing it back to the dealer may be the best advise, however, I want to see if this is self-correctable before I bring it back to the dealer. So I don't have to waste time to bring it back to the dealer when it happens again.

My settings disappeared once too ... Same key, no battery disconnect, nothing, they just disappeared. I just had to reset my options through the turn signal stalk.

There are two settings menus, and for whatever reason, the one you need doesn't always show up. Here's how to access it ...

1. Put the key in, and then with your foot off the pedals, push the start button (without starting the car).
2. Using the turn signal button, go to Set/Info and long press.
3. Toggle through all the options till you find the key with a check mark. Long press on it.
3a. If you don't see the key with a check mark, go to the key with the ruler and long press. Toggle all the way through to 'Next' and long press. This should bring up the key with a check mark. Long press on it.
4. Toggle to the lock with an 'A' and long press.
5. Toggle the options and long press on the one you want. Clock + lock enables the auto timer lock. Arrow + lock enables the driving lock at 10 mpg. Clock + arrow + lock enables both timer lock and driving lock.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the detailed instruction, I did as instructed, but the lock symbol was not even on my setting option. So I guess this may requires reprogramming by the dealer.

Thought I should update on this issue. I brought it to mini Monrovia this morning, and they got my keys reprogrammed and everything is running as it should.

The job was very quick, took them about the "time to fill of a glass of water" to get the keys reprogrammed. Awesome, so I basically spent about 3 mins at the dealer today! Incredibly fast!

Question about autolock, if I forget the keys in the car or in the trunk, does it autolock? Don't want to lock myself out haha

The auto locking is what occurs when you are driving the car and reach 10mph. Your key could be anywhere in the car (assuming you have Comfort Access). I think what you are asking about pertains to when the car is parked. If you have Comfort Access, you cannot lock the car with the key in it. If you have the alarm, it will give a long beep to let you know you left the key in the car.

Asktheteach - thanks for the quick reply yes that was what I was asking. I do have comfort access and hate having to lock the doors as my hands are usually full with stuff.

I tried the option to autolock when no doors are open today, same key, when parked but it doesn't autolock. I stepped away from the car after exiting the car but nothing happens. Come back and the doors are still unlocked. What gives?
