Swapping out shifter cover?

I've seen it in a few places but I'm looking for the part numbers if anyone has them.

I want to change my auto shifter cover to a manual shift cover. Not that I don't like my auto, but I'm looking for a new look...

So! Anyone have this info out there?

Thanks!

Try realOEM.com

Will the manual shift cover actually work on an Auto? Maybe try CravenSpeed? I have a cool brushed aluminum manual shift cover from them, which I love..., *but I have a manual transmission though...

Just checked... didn't see everything I was looking to find. I'm not sure if the trim rings are the same. I'll probably end up stopping at a dealer and seeing what exactly I'd need. Or maybe a salvage yard... that may work out better.

I don't see why it wouldn't work... I'm looking at the boot style cover, nothing solid. All it's doing is moving forward, back, and side to side. Kinda the same thing an automatic does.

It would just clean it up a bit for me. But, also confuse the heck outta anyone who tried to drive my car.

Try Redline Goods (redlinegoods.com). They make custom shift boots: very good quality for what I thought was a reasonable price.

Oh, I get it now - you want to replace not just the boot, but the piece with the PRND indicator too. I'd suggest a salvage yard. You may end up having to replace more than just the boot.

Here is the diagram of the shift boot and covers.

The automatics have the little selector piece #11. It snaps into the base right beside the shift boot for the automatic. #12 has a cut boot for the Telltale selector.

That part shares the same ring base as the manual just the little cutout for the selector Telltale. Top ring cover #9 are the same on the manual and automatic.

Shifter Boot Trim Ring - Silver Part number 51167052160

&

The manual shift boots. Which you would have to put in place of the auto version and them do something with the selector piece. Since the cut out to hold it in place will not be there. Possible it could fit under the manual boot.

Good luck and hope that helps with your project.

So it appears, to complete this project, all I need is a boot (#10).

I'm not concerned about the selector. Since it looks like in the diagram it just unplugs, I should be able to just unplug it and move on with my life.

Very helpful and I was honestly hoping you'd pop into this thread with info like you provided. When I get a boot, I think I'll photograph the process to show everyone how it went.

Yep,

Glad I could help. The selector "Telltale" works with the system. I don't believe you can unplug it and run the selector. You could test it by unplugging, I don't know anyone who has ran without it. That's why I mentioned it might fit hanging out under the boot. If you put the shiftier into tap shift mode make sure the shift does not bump it.

Good luck with the project and let us know how its goes.
