Have an '07 MCS with 195/55/16 " summer tires. (Stock). Was given a set of 4 winter tires not mounted. Size 205/55/16 off a Mercedes. Question is will these winter tires fit on my stock rims? Thanks in advance for any help.

I would say yes but they will be a bit wider and taller.

I have a set of stock OE 16" wheels with Pirelli Sotto Zero 2 winter tires on them that are that same size, 205/55/16. (I bought the 205/55/16 because that size was nearly $100 cheaper than the 205/50/16 for some reason.) The tires fit fine except when the steering wheel is turned full lock they rub very slightly on the inner fender liner. I have only ever experienced this in parking manuvers.

So yes, use the free tires you were given. They will be fine.

I suggest you mount those tires on a separate set of wheels. It makes the changeovers much easier.

Will they fit? Yes Are they ideal? No.

The object of winter tires is to get down through the snow to the pavement. You don't really want a wider tire in the winter....

My summer tires are 215-45-17's and for winter I've got 195-55-16's
