I searched and couldn't find anything on the topic, but has anyone just taken out the plastic pillars in the center for good? I did it to pull my radio and almost kind of like the look of it. They are also really creaky and I would really enjoy that noise being gone and that more open feeling. Or does anyone have any suggestions on fillers for the places where the pillars would go?

 

i agree with you that i think i would like to removw those pillars but dont know how to dress up those bits that it leaves exposed like the screw heads and the holes the tubes go into.

on the other hand it does an excellent job of holding me up when i toss the car around in the corners.
