Plastic around side lights near doors

I tried searching in the detailing section but couldn't find. On the left and right fenders just in front of the doors are the side marker lights. Mine have what feels like a plastic body section around them in grey. They look like they have water streaks on them where the grey got even darker. Any idea how to get rid of these marks/streaks?

Thanks in advance

Try a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Worked wonders on mine. Keep it away from the paint, though!

Sounds like cosmoline. I believe there are some products made to help with that. There was a discussion a couple of weeks ago on the MINI Countryman Owners' Lounge Facebook page. Googling should bring it up.
